About Me

background
Charles Tam SW London Piano Teacher: Wandsworth, Wimbledon, Fulham, Putney

I am currently a Fellow in Piano Performance at the GSMD in London, where I also completed my Master’s and Artist Diploma under the guidance of Ronan O’Hora, Peter Bithell and Carole Presland. My earlier studies began at The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, where I earned my Bachelor of Music, studying with distinguished professors Gabriel Kwok and Raymond Young. I also minored in fortepiano and conducting.

Throughout my training, I’ve also been fortunate to have learned from world-class pianists like Aquiles Delle-Vigne, Peter Donohoe, Stephen Hough, Imogen Cooper, Paul Lewis, Dang Thai Son, and many others in workshops and masterclasses. Each has left an indelible mark on my artistry, and I love passing on this lineage of inspiration to my own students.

Performances

Alongside teaching, I am an active performer, regularly playing in concerts and recitals. Some of my most memorable experiences include performing at London Wigmore Hall and London Barbican Milton Court.

I have also performed extensively in Europe and Asia. Highlights include performing in Novi Sad, Serbia as a soloist with the Belgrade Symphony Orchestra, and my recital in Hong Kong with Julien Beaudiment, one of the world’s leading flutists and former principal flute of the LA Philharmonic.

Collaborating with other outstanding musicians, whether in chamber music or with an orchestra, is something I always look forward to.
